Nothing is more distressing than the disappearance of a child. Unfortunately, thousands of parents nationwide live daily with the painful knowledge that a child -- a son or daughter -- has been abducted or become lost. Some of these children are eventually returned to their homes. A few are found brutally murdered. In some cases, the parents never hear from them again.
The Attorney General's office is working with the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) to find South Carolina's missing children. Please read the descriptions, memorize the faces, and call SLED's hotline -- 1-800-32-CHILD (1-800-322-4453) -- if you have any information that might help reunite these children with their families.
The Attorney General's office is also working with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which maintains a database of information about missing children nationwide. If you have any information regarding a child on this list -- or any child who seems to be in trouble -- please call SLED's hotline at 1-800-32-CHILD (1-800-322-4453).
