The SC Meth Watch Program, funded by Consumer Health Products Association (CHPA), announces the availability of mini-grants for projects occurring between June1, 2005 and December 31, 2005. The purpose of the mini-grant program is to provide funding to local communities throughout South Carolina to assist with the implementation of methamphetamine prevention initiatives.

Funding eligibility requirements:

  • Must be an organization located in the State of South Carolina and be affiliated with a local unit of government, 501©(3), or school.
  • A representative of the applicant agency must have attended at least one of the SC Meth Watch training seminars provided by the SC Meth Watch Program.
  • Must demonstrate collaboration with the Office of the Attorney General and CHPA.

Funds may be used for but are not limited to the following: tamper tags for anhydrous ammonia tanks, materials/ingredients for a mock meth lab used for community awareness presentations, printed materials such as brochures and fliers, travel for the purposes of providing meth education, area maps to document lab closures, other supplies.

Organizations may apply for funding for more than one initiative. For example, one community may choose to implement a project requiring $500 for tamper tags and $500 for printed materials. The amount of awards will vary depending on need, geographic location, and availability of funds. A total of approximately $6,000 is available statewide.
